I had some leftover strawberries that had started to go bad and I wanted something cute to match my new thrifted dessert plate so I made these! This recipe makes six cookies.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup of butter

  • 3 tbs of sugar

  • 1/2 cap of almond or vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup of flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon of cornstarch

  • pinch of salt

  • A few tablespoons of jam

1.) Cream together butter and sugar then add the almond or vanilla extract

2.) Beat in flour cornstarch and salt, the texture will be sand-like but don't worry, ball the dough. This should yield six cookie balls.

3.) Press hearts into the dough and put in the freezer for half an hour to prevent spreading.

4.) Preheat oven to 375. Heat the Jam for a few second to make it pourable then fill the thumbprints with jam and bake bor 10-12 minutes

5.) Enjoy!

I baked these for my family and coworkers! They were absolutely delicious and my only regret was that I didn't double up on the recipe to make more
